Salted Chocolate Caramel Rice Krispies Treats
One thing I love to make over and over again is Rice Krispies treats. I seriously can't get enough! I've been wanting to make some like these Salted Chocolate Caramel Rice Krispies Treats for a while now and finally had a reason to. I made them for a Super Bowl Party my family went to and they were a hit! Such a good flavor combo on top paired with the Rice Krispies treat on the bottom.
I mean, how can you resist that gooey caramel center?? Such a fun recipe to make for a crowd that will definitely be a favorite!

Salted Chocolate Caramel Rice Krispies Treats
1/4 cup unsalted butter
10 oz. mini marshmallows
1 Tbsp. vanilla
5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
14 oz. caramels, unwrapped (I prefer Werther's Soft Caramels)
2 tbsp. water
19 oz. chocolate chips (about 2 1/3 cup)
sea salt flakes for topping
1. Grease a 9x13-inch pan and set aside.
2. In a large pan, melt butter and mini marshmallows on low heat, stirring constantly. When mixture is smooth, stir in the vanilla.
3. Remove pan from heat and add Rice Krispies, 2 cups at a time. Mix well. Pour into the greased pan and press down with a greased spatula. Place in fridge to chill.
4. In a small pot, add unwrapped caramels and water and cook on low heat, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth. Pour over Rice Krispies mixture and spread evenly. Place back in fridge to chill.
5. Place chocolate chips in a large microwavable bowl and melt in 30 seconds intervals, stirring between each interval, until completely melted and smooth.
6. Pour over caramel layer, sprinkle with sea salt and place back in the fridge to chill for at least 1 hour.
7. Cut bars while still cold, but let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving.
