Cinnamon Buttercream Frosting
My oldest asked for cinnamon frosting for his birthday party cupcakes and I have never been more proud. ;) I am clearly obsessed with cinnamon and this buttercream is divine. I'm still working on making good homemade cupcakes, but the frosting ALWAYS has to be homemade. No cans of frosting for us! The best part is this buttercream is super simple to mix up and everyone will love it. I guarantee it!
Cinnamon Buttercream Frosting
Yields 2 1/2 cups
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
4 cups powdered sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
3-4 Tbsp. heavy cream
1. Add butter to large bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle or whisk attachment and beat on medium speed until light and fluffy.
2. Add vanilla and mix until combined.
3. Scrape down sides and bottom of the bowl. Add powdered sugar and cinnamon to mixing bowl. Beat until well blended.
4. Add cream and beat until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add more powdered sugar to stiffen the buttercream or more cream to soften it, 1 Tbsp. at a time.
